Over 800 community members, including students and professional leaders from the Council of Islamic Organizations of Greater Chicago participated in the 4^th Annual Illinois Muslim Action Day on Tuesday, April 17^th 2012.

House Speaker Michael Madigan addressed 40 community leaders at the breakfast in the Governor’s mansion. Following the breakfast CIOGC and coalition partners held a press conference in the mansion and a rally in the State Capitol building Rotunda to share the Illinois Muslim Action Day Issue Agenda which includes Education, All Kids, violence prevention, parent mentor program, Reject Hate HR 916, and school closure moratorium.   Leaders met with Senate Republican leader Christine Radogno, House Republican Leader Tom Cross, Latino Caucus Co-Chair Representative Berrios, as well as dozens of other legislators representing Chicago and suburban districts.
