David Miller (D) look on. 470 Muslims gathered in the Howlett Auditorium on May 21 to kick off the first Muslim Action Day in Springfield. The resolution to encourage school districts in Illinois to explore the introduction of Arabic as a foreign language in their curriculum passed out of the Senate Committee and was adopted by the Senate. The resolution was sponsored by Senators Jacqueline Collins, Michael Noland and Michael Bond. At press time, the resolution has been sent to the House where it was sponsored by Rep. Mary Flowers.
