Muslim Leaders Welcome Turkish Leadership to Chicago

A delegation of Muslim leaders representing CIOGC, ISNA and CAIR-Chicago met with the President of Turkey Abdullah Gul, his foreign Minister Dr Ahmet Davutoglu, his defense Minister, his Ambassador to DC and his Chicago Consular yesterday after the conclusion of NATO summit. The meeting was very positive and brotherly. The Muslim leadership welcomed the Turkish leadership to Chicago and detailed the current issues and challenges at the local and national levels. We thanked the Turkish leaders for reflecting a bright image of a modern democratic Muslim country that cares about the concerns of Muslims in the world. The Turkish president and his delegation were very humble and personable. They stressed on the important role that American Islamic organizations play. They pledged better coordination and promised to work on exchange programs with Islamic organizations.
